How old are your leads?
I had misfires on my cvh 4/4 efi
Tried everything!
Leads looked ok but replaced them with stock new ones and bingo! No misfires.
With your problem the heat build up after 18 miles could then cause issues with old leads.
New ones were not expensive so no real loss if they didn't cure the fault.
If I remember correctly they were definitely less than £30 ( if not cheaper) from eurocarparts
