I have a hideous memory of very cheap "cider" from a shop in Bristol in the late 70s. 5L for £1.20 in a "bring your own" plastic can, the stuff was cloudy, flat and only made drinkable by adding fizzy lemonade. Seemed OK, ish, but the following morning..dear God, I could have given up alcohol, but turned to home brew beer.
I've never, ever, touched cider since.
Oh 'eck, you've just reminded me about my one and only bout with cider as a student - I think I lost two days !!!
