Er....correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the T series bodywork was hung on an ash frame too.

I never really checked on that but it seems you are correct. The MG TC has a fair amount of wood in it too, particularly around the doors. The ash frame of a modern trad is somewhat more complete. I have no idea of the structure of the 4/4 that was contemporary with the TC.
