I too know a man who rebuilds motorcycle engines and says the best engines were thrashed when brand new. He says it machines all the parts beautifully and the engines last much longer.
My 4/4 came with instructions that the oil did not need changing till 10T miles.
At 4T the oil looked awful to me so I changed it.
