I was told by the dealer to keep it below 4000 revs for the first 500 miles and then gradually increase the revs with occasional visits to the red line being perfectly ok after that until 1000 miles when it has its first service. After that go for it.
Mine has done about 3000 miles and is sweet as a nut with regular use to 6000 revs plus, the red warning light comes on about 6500 revs and the fuel cuts out at 6800, only done that once.
Whilst the car is lovely to drive at less than 4000 revs you will be much more impressed above that where the power kicks in, keeping it between 4000 and 6500 revs on twisty country roads is serious fun.
