AFAIR it's pretty straightforward, there's a metal plate that screws to the top of the door, the leather goes underneath, round over the top, and is then secured to the inner face of the door. The only tricky bit is sewing the little 'U' shaped section to hold the shape at the trailing edge of the door. I outsourced this bit to 'Er Indoors.
