It sounds like a right faff if it means removing a panel from the skuttle under the bonnet (Thanks hbatts). I will investigate later this week. More important things to do first, like refitting the rear wheel...once I'm recovered from my dose of Man Flu
I had a feel behind the dashboard tonight and thought I could feel the nut at the end of the mirror stalk. I guess the backing plate will fall out onto the floor when it comes apart...then we will have to put it all back together to drive home after the event.
Whatever we do, there is a good risk eventually of damaging the chrome finish on the mirror stalks
We are currently attempting to get them to allow us to tape over the mirrors as suggested by Gerry
