I had a go at pulling the bottom of the scuttle trim and yes it's held on with Velcro!
Once pulled off the Velcro the trim just slides out from around the dash. When removed the nut at the bottom of the mirror stalk is visible and accessible. Easy Peasey!!
One less excuse not to go racing!!!
