Most probably the 4 rubber bushes holding the gear stick remote. I had exactly the same symptons on my 92 plus4. I spoke to Keith at Brands Hatch Morgans and they sold me the polyeurathane replacement bushes. I would not touch tbe gearbox until this has been done. The bottom of the remote was touching the uj on the prop shaft. Noise to end all noises.
