Thanks to everyone for the various suggestions - there's a whole lot of listening to do here. Fortunately, SWMBO is away for an entire week, so time is available (aside from the irritant of work).
And a couple of suggestions of my own that folks may want to listen to - "The Wind" by Warren Zevon is worth browsing, and anything by David Lindley (try the album El Rayo-X - has the best ever version of Mercury Blues!)
