When working by myself on the +8 , I am frequently confronted by a stubborn nut , bolt , or other fitting . I know that if I try to remove it using hand tools and brute force I stand a good chance of damaging it beyond the point that I would choose to refit it.
I am always therefore happy to pay a little more to people who work on my car because they have accumulated many of the correct tools , and they have the expertise and experience to use them effectively. I accept that they are also consuming everything from solvents to odd fittings , and I think a charge for these is more than fair.
