Regarding the rectifier, I feel more comfortable using the CE rectifier than the Harley style. I know little about electricity, but the CE rectifier seems a little more elegant solution than just dumping excess voltage to ground, Maybe a little more gentle on the alternator too? I will admit I have a Harley rectifier carried for emergencies.
