You should try filling a Supersport - not only does it suffer the same short neck problem but the rear wing means you have to hold it at an awkward angle - usually with the other hand underneath.
I can fill the Disco (75l) faster than the Supersport (35l)
Filling my one was becoming an absolute mare, with the first pour of petrol (a pints worth) pouring back out and down the side of the car.
I took her down to Techniques in Hertfordshire and they found the metal door was opening from the bottom but, worse still, the breather had rotated 180 degrees so the escaping air had to pass through the fuel causing the issues above. All fixed now and, as ever when taking a car to Techniques, she feels like new - very highly recommended, they actually treat your car like it is their own!
