It all depends. Back to the factory's blacksmith tolerances. Wings were hung in place then trimmed to fit; probably still are. Rebuilt cars, and the wings are often replaced, will differ again sometimes depending on changes in wheel width or aesthetics.
Consider it this way, the door throw of of Morgan is less than virtually any other car and egress with the hood down is easier than climbing out of a sunroof or squeezing through a window if it's not possible to open the door sufficiently.
