A company plans to build 18 cars. Chassis numbers are allocated, and 12 are built. Some time later the remaining 6 are built, using exactly the same materials, tools, and techniques as the first 12.
Of course the first run will be worth more, as they have a longer history and provenance, but to refuse to see the new cars as 'genuine' is just plain bonkers.
