I have a roadster. I lowered the seat considerably by removing the wooden runners. I then took the seat squab and replaced the foam with memory foam which is thinner and fantastically comfortable. When I replaced it I left the back supports hang which lowers the base of my spine another inch and makes the backrest be in a much more ergonomic position. This solved my problems completely. With a previous 4/4 I cut away just a little of the curved frame of the seat so that it would go back over the rear suspension casing. In the 4/4 I had before that I simply hammered the casing which lowered it enough to let the seat go back!

PS lowering the seat obviously increases knee room but also has the effect of placing the top of your head below the windscreen thus reducing buffeting and making the bonnet seem even longer!!
