This is what i want to make. a lip washer/ flange.
it will increase the surface area of the cap's rubber on the tube.
(it also needs a nitrile rubber o-ring around the lip washer/flange.)

With just a penny wahser, the pressure in the sheet is still high enough to slice the rubber sheet. The flange spreads the load on the rubber sheet.

The rubber o-ring forms the seal on the other side of the flange.

with this design;
both rubber seals can have a very high force. With no risk of breaking into the oil. With a tightly placed cap, no oil leaks.
