Hi Cyril
That's what I need but bear in mind that the records are in "old fashioned" typed script so I cannot just do a search!

682 4/4 SIRDSTR ENG: MA 794 GBX: 10772 RED EXT & BLACK INT. DISP: 26 OCT 1938 DEST: U.K.
CONDITION: UNTRACED AGENT: J. Coryton Ltd, South Kensington
OPTIONS: RHD. Aluminium spoked disc wheels
NOTES: Petrol pump 6e-61435

I did see that J. Coryton ltd had returned a car in 1939 to be re-engined - will look into it more.

BUT Q 05 E appears to be fitted to chassis # 853 a 4/4 DHC supplied directly (unusual) to a Mr. W.J.C. Kendall and was one of the first DHC fitted with a Standard Special engine. My GUESS this is just another of Morgan's inhouse moves!

I must say looking at the records are the cars factory built out of secondhand parts and cars where the gearbox has been changed and the old gearbox serviced and put back into stock. Some of our prized possessions could well be a factory bitsers!
