I recently replaced my filler pipe on the 89 Plus four 2 str, having ordered the bent one from BHM. Two things : the pipe needed to be shortened and so I made a simple template from paper. In order to stop filling blowback I made it as straight as possible and now have a fast fill at the pump. The other thing noticed was how corroded/cracked the exterior was and how undegraded the interior. I use 98 unleaded. Vaseline around the tank pipe and the filler pipe will help but it can be a bit of a struggle.
