I don't think that this is at all a safe assumption. The Tory party is made up of essentially 3 different groups; the Ukip leaning, anti Europe swivel eyed loons, the ones who above all believe in a small state & to hell with all the vulnerable in society, and the wishy washy one nation Tories (such as me). The glue which holds these strands together is a shared fear of the barbarians at the gate (Labour). Take that away and there is every reason to believe that in time the Tory party is just as likely to split apart as the Labour party now is.

Personally I'm appalled by the election of Jeremy Corbyn. It's far better that our parties of government should be centrist parties rather than too politically polarized.
