TBH I can't see why one would want to put steel wings on, especially not when the alloy ones are so well made these days, but chacun à son goût and all that...
Possibly if you wanted to retain originality. I have steel wings on my 69 which seem to be in quite good condition however until chemically stripped I wont really know. They are stronger than Ali wings and less prone to damage from stones.
