Short story to preempt the question. My father bought a 1957 Plus 4 with bustle back. The car was restored to a high standard back in the late 90s. We are in North Carolina and we have to have an 'inspection' by theft and bureau before they will issue a title. The inspector had no idea what a morgan was and because the restoration was so well done the guy convinced himself it was a replica car. Now I have to prove that the car is a 1957 Morgan to an idiot who doesnt know what they are. I know it is what I think it is. The chassis has the number stamped under passenger seat. Now to my question. We have a bustle back, which I'm led to believe were produced prior to 1958. Can anyone state for certain what year the bustle backs were made? I have sent morgan a chassis record request, so that will help prove my case. Thanks in advance.
