The 5L Suplex system is available with two types of dampers.
The base system uses a non adjustable Bilstein damper which has been selected, tested, re-valved, tested again, and so on, to achieve the desired damping characteristics with two passengers and zero to moderate luggage loads. This would suit most people and once installed would not require any adjustment.
The alternative is fitted with Quantum adjustable dampers. The lowest setting is more or less equivalent to the Bilsteins but if one prefers a firmer ride or is carrying a lot of luggage the damping can be increased.
Both systems have adjustable preload/ride height. Obviously with the very limited travel available on the trad Morgan, because the chassis passes under the axle, this can only be set over a narrow range.
The entire 5L system has been optimised for use with the Suplex front suspension system and dampers and an adjustable Quantum damper is now available for the front. I have decided to stay with the Bilstein front damper.
