Not an Aero car but my Plus8 (rover v8) has had the light come on a couple of times.
Evap code once..cleared with my OBD tool.
Checks couldn't find any cause , possibly my driving? Too enthusiastic on a cold engine? It happened once after reverting to standard 95 RON petrol after being on Super...possibly the ecu slow to react and learn new requirements?
If away on a trip I carry the OBD reader just in case.
A second fault was " random intermittent misfire".
Again cleared ok and no idea why it happened. Engine ran nicely with no detectable issues.
The Gems manual, if I read it correctly, gave no real clues.
If a serious fault occurs it should cut the engine and light flash?
There are comments somewhere in the manual re this.
At MOT the car has always shown emissions " on the edge", lambda at top end of the range.
Last Nov I did an Italian tune up before MOT....passed fine at jst below max!
PeterJ.....when does the light come on? Straight away at cold start?
Cat and lambda sensors need heat to work properly so perhaps sensors are faulty?
Are they the ones with built in heaters to prevent cold state errors?
