The nub as I see it (see what I did, there..) is the type approval of LED light 'bulbs'. The filament bulbs carry a type approval mark in the form of an e mark, whereas the usual eBay LED stuff probably doesn't..

Half right - merely echo's what the FHBVC has said in the past. The crucial point is, no aftermarket LED has the necessary approval. But if your Morgan is old enough (see article) it doesn't matter.
