The cut off date for trading in protected species has been set at 1947. Anything that is pre '47 (that has been worked or mounted) can be bought and sold within the EU. This includes all ivory, rhino horns, striped and spotted cats etc. The law is very strict and anything after this date has to have necessary paperwork. Many items including those listed above, have a total worldwide ban. It's a difficult task, to find items that are in good condition and are also so old (and rare). ebay has turned up some amazing finds! Harvey
