There are plenty of 10 year old 100k+ mile Priuses (Prii? Prions?) out there with perfectly healthy batteries, greatly exceeding original predictions.
Prius' are NiMH battery tech. Pure EVs like the EV3 use LiIon. A better question might be: how many laptops are still running on their original batteries after a few years?
My guess is that a 75-150 mile range is going to be fine for many potential EV3 owners.
I'd turn that round: EV3 owners are going to have to be fine with a 75-150 mile range!
