Given the prices achieved recently by historic Morgans with racing history, and the fact that this is one of the rarest (with recent invitations to Goodwood and Laguna Seca, among others) then the figure quoted, while high, does not seem particularly outrageous.
I would agree with you, if this cars allows you to get entry in classic racing events, somebody will want it and will be willing to pay the price for it.
