Re reliability, you might like this bit of info:
Never had any probs with the 4/4 and have taken it all over GB and a fair bit to Europe in the three years since I've had it
My 'luck' changed when we went to the 24hrs in June. The journey back was an absolute nightmare, car in get you home mode one minute then OK then back to pain in the b*m mode. It was only via some 'telephone tutorials' by Mike Duncan that I managed to drive it home rather than have it trailored.
I think I mentioned this trouble in an earlier post about MAF sensors/ water ingress onto the plugs etc but what I didn't say then was we finally discovered what had messed up the sensor: a mouse had crawled into the induction pipe and chewed my air filter!
( We were staying at the Arbor and as many people will know, it is a fairly wooded, rural setting- hence the mouse- field we guess)
Truth is, after all, stranger than fiction!
