Try white spirit (not Turps) on a chamois , let the MUST BE white spirit soak the leather till soft so you do not rough the wood . The white spirit will evaporate away. If marks go away and you use hard carnauba wax give the dash a couple of coating polishing each one away before you apply the next coat.
