Allstar Performance Clamp-On Kits ALL99161

You'll need two. The inner diameter of the swivel is 1/2". It can be tightened at any angle. I cobbed together rubber washers and butchered grommets to eliminate metal-to-metal contact. The clamp itself and the swivel head are held together with hardened 3/16" Allen head bolts, all the same size. The tech support at Summit racing pointed out that these clamps were initially designed to hold the window netting on race cars and may be limited to the weight they can carry. I looked and measured and as the rack itself is held up by three points that putting on luggage or whatever up to 50 lbs is quite within reason. I can see by the way the clamp fits that it is not going to slip. The bolts holding the swivel are what would fail. They are more than adequate. The rack took only a half hour to install, most of that being used to figure out just how high on the roll bars it would be. The block of wood that Morgan supplies I used to hold up the rack at the fuel cap area during install. The car cover still fits, too!

Rockabilly John: many thanks. my personal 15 minutes...
