Slightly O/T but one hot Sunday morning in the eighties the fuel in my Fiat Strada expanded as fas as a small breather tube on the side of the filler pipe, starting a syphon that emptied an entire tank of 4* into the gutters.
A neighbour alerted me but there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop it, eventually the fire brigade arrived and hosed down the street, my Strada and several other cars around it.
