My main grump was there continued reference in the South African segment to them being off-road. They weren't off-road at all, they were on a "non-city" road - all of which can be tackled in a hire car, ideally at speed.
Had great fun a couple of years ago in KwaZulu-Natal on some of the non-city stuff. Heading back to civilization from Rourke's drift, up a steep hill with sump killing stones required the driver to keep the foot and the hands praying!
One back road almost caught me out as a rise and crest hid a corner - resulting in turn-in, lift off, oversteer, catch, full throttle.
