The air suspension retains the original leaf springs and the original Bilstein dampers. Two additional air suspension dampers are fitted along with a compressor. A switch under the dashboard allows the driver to release the air pressure to lower the car or increase it to gain ground clearance. Air suspension is progressive so it acts as a soft bump stop in addition to controlling ground clearance. It would be possible to add a pressure gauge, but so far I adjust the pressure depending on the number of passengers and the road conditions. The cost in 2014 was £2800 of which £1100 was for the parts. This is not cheap, but I am very happy with the result.
