There's some good advice here but only you can decide what works for you
IMHO nobody can offer any kind of advice until they understand what you want from the car and your personal risk profile.
My car is a year old. I spec'd a lot of cosmetic items but no performance upgrades. I retrofitted a nice factory S&S air filter cover. In the last year I have done 5000 trouble free Km's. Had not a single issue, My 3 tyres are barely worn, my warrantee is intact and I've had all the weekend and midweek adventures I could ever hope for at all the performance level I like. I'm likewise a refugee from Lotus, Ferrari (multiple) and Porsche ownership and feel only smugness today when I see those makes today bumbling along endlessly at 100k
I probably wouldn't know what a good engine sounds like, I've tried to listen for pinking...., nah, way beyond me. I just know when I turn the key,she starts first pop, the exhausts throb, the car shakes, and people turn and look, smile, and give me a thumbs up, or take my picture, or say "love your car", or even "you've made my day" (yes really)
Do you want to go faster, sound better, donut better, than the M3W next door (even if there is one) then go for some upgrades but if you want a race car then there are probably better options because like most things, pushing the envelope is going to cost you and in a M3W more than most. Are you prepared or is your passion to forever tinker?
Where are you going to use it? Do you see yourself driving in harsh conditions? The mudguard/screen might be useful but I check under my boot liner often and despite being caught out in rain from time to time, on well sealed city roads there is very little dirt back there that a quick brush and vacuum won't remove. I like the wind in the face that the standard screens provide. Different scene and I'd be happy to change.
Some suggestions are answers to problems long addressed with the 2014 and subsequent modifications by the factory and to what degree are you prepared to void your warrantee let alone put your life at risk with unauthorised modifications.
Sadly it is the problems that get the most coverage on forums. There are hundreds of M3W's out there providing nothing but joy to their owners that you don't hear about.
