I'm just trying to imagine what it must be like for the lorry driver to write out the insurance claim form describing what he has just done. Probably fair to say he might need to look for a new job but probably not a driving one.
Does his insurance pay for the bridge?
Well it did apparently hit it. I must admit I'm still struggling to understand why it happened. A digger on a lorry isn't to my mind a particularly high load, certainly not normally for when motorway bridges are taken into account.
We have a railway bridge which crosses over the A56 two miles away from us with a 14'6" height and regularly a lorry hits it and causes mayhem but motorway bridges are usually considerably higher.
