Exactly....they are 4" but anything with a cast metal chassis and a good magnet would need a new cover. Not impossible, but I agree with Alistair, replace the back ones first......

'problem is, (to the best of my knowledge),the S1 did not have any speakers fitted in the rear - only the front.

I would be interested if anyone has summoned up the courage to mount them on the rear alloy 'bulkhead',just above the tank...?
This would necessitate cutting holes in the alloy panel in what is quite an awkward location.

I have an Alpine powered sub fitted up - front and currently have these fitted in the rear -

- sound is excellent and they do look good.I have, however decided that they take up too much valuable interior storage so looking at a different solution (see above wink )

That's quite interesting James, I did wonder if you had looked into this further as I know you have made a few entertainment mods to your Aero. smile

I have a few ideas but I want to keep the weight down, and I don't want to cut holes in her either. The few locations I thought might be feasible for something like a set of 6x9s would be:

- Behind the seats either on the floor or mounted vertically - I guess these could be affixed to the carpet if there is nowhere to mount them.
- On the rear shelf.

Peter / Andrew thanks for confirming that for me, I guess I will need to remove the originals and see how much clearance I have - or get fabricating a new cover! smile
