Its even better from the navigators seat!!!

The "best" off I ever had was on the PK Road Rally in North Wales when I was navigating for a lad called Chris Farrell in a 1400 Honda Civic.

It was just breaking dawn and the selective used a muddy track above Cerrig near Bala and then down across a field with a 90 left at the bottom to go through a gate and then into a control

Alas a combination of clogged tyres (after the e-marked tyres rule banned Yoko 35's), a heavy dew and a little bit of tiredness meant that we did not take off enough speed make the turn. Chris to his credit did not panic... he just said "Aw s**t, here it comes....We then went through a barbed wire fence, down a 25ft drop, through a dry stone wall, took out a healthy pine tree and came to rest on all four wheels. Chris then said "Well that was rather exciting, would you mind opening that gate". Snicked it into gear and drove up to a field gate, went through it and into the control and handed my time cards to a shocked marshal. Funny thing was, never dropped a second on that selective.

I went back to see the farmer the next day with a couple of rolls of fencing wire to make good the damage and a chainsaw to cut the tree up for him. I asked him about repairing the wall and he said "its alright lad, I always wanted a gate there!
