I plan on driving her to/from school next week if there's a nice day for it.
Anyone have any tips for backing up and setting the side mirrors?
I normally set car mirrors so I see just a bit of the side of the car on the inside. Works well to let me know that I've got them at about the same viewing angle. Not going to work in this case.
Which is why I have trouble backing up. I normally do this with mirrors instead of turning around. Turning around puts me in a very odd position that doesn't seem to help much in the m3w.
I like backing into the garage so that when I get home at the end of the day and park my daily just outside the garage I'll get the unveiling all over again when I raise the door.
They are a difficult car to back up but it does get easier with experience.
I have my mirrors set the same as you but remember due to the body shape the mirrors are turned in a bit compared to a regular car. So when you think you are backing up straight you are probably at an angle.
I also find it quite difficult to sense where the back of the car is when reversing so either use the front wheels to line up with the vehicle next to me or stop short, get out and push it the last bit.
