I suddenly got it into my head that I absolutely had to have traditional English Christmas cake and pudding for the coming festivities. After trying several sources I discovered Meg Rivers, in the top 10 of best Christmas cakes and, as it turned out, a small company in the Cotswolds that has about 6 hardworking employees.



The response to my enquiry was so fast that I almost could not believe it and they promised that my order would be despatched today (well actually yesterday now as it is after midnight) their courier service has promised 5 working days for delivery so with a little luck it will arrive on the 23rd or 24th. If not it will be a New Year's cake. Certainly it won't be their fault if it is late.
