Short door

Long door

When you get your car make sure it is a long door, ingress and egress is so much easier - my first Plus 8 was a short door and painful.
I agree! My +8 Bitsa has a '98 chassis (Long Door) and a much earlier Body Tub (Short Door) plus I added Roadster Seats (Long Door). After I get in I am super comfortable. But I almost need a Back Doctor every time I get into or out of this cracker box.
After a bit of sorting out and another engine (3.9) I am beginning to love My +8 Bitsa. It certainly has a lazy engine. Unless I am on the "Interstate" (Motorway) I leave it in 4th because I like the instant power. But that being said I have never broken the rear wheels loose. It just scoots. The addition of 300mm front brakes and the big cast iron brake drums (I plan to change this to disks) give quite a lot of security in the Mountains. I try to keep the weight down. It was 1,800 lbs. It has crept up a bit. If your a bit of a mechanic and have a place to work, This project, has kept this old man very happy.
