Would casting it in zinc work ? I seem to remember that its quite an easy material for casting from when I was a kid ( we used to cast zinc soldiers). It's traditionally a very popular material for cast bar counters in France. Not very Colin Chapman though - build in lightness  . Oh yeah. Just checked the density of zinc. I thought it was lighter than that. Stupid idea.
