Hi Dave, I have a picture on my garage wall of you presenting me with the judges choice shield award at the NEC following the Buxton Pride of ownership, possibly your first official roll in the job?
Buxton was the Mog where I threw caution to the wind and got involved, although I was only a Judge at Buxton. But I had such a great time that it led me into volunteering for the Concours Sec role. I was provisionally voted in at the following NCM and then ratified at the AGM the following February. I also did some car park marshalling at that event, so Buxton was where it all started.
I've watched the MSCC evolve over the last six years and from the outside you may not see much difference. But there's been a huge turnover of individuals in that time. From being the new kid on the block and watching long serving officers stand down I'm now the one standing down and watching new kids on the block arriving...........
It's been a real pleasure but at the cost of always having to be at the MOG no matter where and what the weather, and staying all day. But now I am free to enjoy the Mogs, and arrive & leave when I feel like it.
My favourite Mog event was Newmarket. The venue was superb. The weather was superb. I travelled down solo each day and really bonded with my Roadster. A fabulous event.
