Yes it does. I'm trawling back through my memory banks.
The MGBGTV8 uses 1800 Roadster cylinders to reduce brake effort at the rear. The bigger (front) pad area on the V8 meant that standard GT rear cylinders made them more prone to lock up.
Not sure which way round the diameter was but presumably smaller bore means more pressure?
