The V8 has low rev torque to make cruising a pleasure and some get up and go if needed. Less gear changes can make you lazy!
It can be a relaxed lazy drive or a hooligan if needed.
I get 30mpg out of my 2002 with Gems efi so no worries.
Just try out the variants of engine sizes to find the one you want.
I liked my old 4/4 too. A different car to drive.
