Clearly inside weights are at a smaller radius from the centre, so would require more weight for the same effect compared to outside. It just seems a shame to hammer them onto the pristine rims. I have stainless wires so it doesn't matter all that much, but with painted or powder coated wires, surely it would damage the finish, and bubbling or corrosion would soon set in.
