There will not be anything other than a void if you take off that back trim panel! The first few cars had no storage slot for side screens. As I'm sure Perry will confirm when he gets on, it was an issue with him and I believe his car was fitted with the storage slot as were a number, if not most of the later cars.
Why the slot was never considered essential to store the side screens.....like any other Sport bodied model.....is one of those MMC mysteries🙄 It's not as if the Sport luggage rack has a storage area. As SBM has stated, the number one car and Geneva show car, owned by the factory archivist Martyn Webb, was developed from the still born 4/4 Speedster prototype which having an aeroscreen, did not have sidescreens and therefore was not fitted with the storage slot!
Henry has covered the steering wheel query. However, the Brooklands wheel is effectively bespoke to Morgan. It is a Bluemels 14" wheel at the price you state, to which you have to add the central boss and horn mount and the main boss which makes it close to £600.
