Hi Kenny, I can vouch for Henry, not that he needs vouching for and he only bites after a couple of pints of cider!
With regard to the storage space in the back, it would be my guess that if you took the carpet off, there could be a back board and if this is removed you will find your missing storage area, though I doubt it will be carpeted on your car as it is such an early one. I expect even Morgan didn't discover it for a while. Perhaps this will be your first upgrade then?
I have to say, I found the storage cubby below the rear deck of my Sport extremely practical and useful, particularly with the 9 stud hood, as the hood, side screens, emergency kit, cockpit cover and so on all fitted in there very tidily.
The cubby hole is a two piece plastic moulding. I did remove the insert once to tighten the Morgan Logo (as the nuts underneath had become loose). As it is a simple moulding, it should be very easy to retrofit.
The other reason I removed it was that as supplied, there was no waterproof seal between the two halves of the moulding, so it leaked water in very wet conditions. I ran a bead of silicon around the join and stuck duct tape over the top of it. Problem solved.
I should moan about it a bit to Oakmere and see what they say.
Typical Morgan issue mind you.....
