Could you say a bit more about the electrical connection, and maybe some photos, please? I have the same predicament (although no spare wheel).
Are you going to put the trunk above the wheel, or vice versa? Or ditch the wheel when you use the trunk, etc etc?
I haven't looked at how the PO wired in the additional light feed, I presume it is just in parallel with the built in brake light. I'll see what is involved in getting at the connections.
I'm planning to ditch the spare wheel when using the trunk.
