So with 2 months to go Mark, Roger and I have been looking at the route down to Grindelwald and suggest the following:

Mon 28th – Calais to Troyes

Given the distance the best option is to simply get there on the toll roads. Based on Google we are looking at 255 miles and 4 hours which, with breaks, should put us into Troyes around 17:00 – 18:00

The tolls are €33.40

As we are passing by a quick stop at the Reims circuit would be a good photo opportunity – adding about 15/20 mins driving.

Tue 29th – Troyes – Belfort

A non-highway route takes us about 165 miles and 4 hours.

Wed 30th – Belfort – Grindelwald

It’s a scenic start then motorway

150 miles and 3hr 40 mins

We will need the Swiss Carnet which can be bought in advance from https://rail.myswitzerland.com/vignette.html?language=en
It’s £32 with foc 1st class post.

Let me know if anyone has any other suggestions.

In the meantime I’ll sort out Garmin SatNav routes to circulate.

Cheers

Chris
